Consignment Sales!

Wow....What a blessing they have been. My mom turned me onto one recently.It was held in a Church gym so that the sale was on rain or shine. I was so amazed at all of the clothes I was able to purchase for my little guy.All of the items I purchased were very good quality and at reasonable prices.After the sale ,I realized I was very fortunate to have attended because they only hold them twice a year. One in the Spring and one in the Fall. Avent Bottles !

One of my first challenges as a new mother was finding a bottle that met the needs of both my son and I. I needed a bottle that he would be happy with, but also one that was easy to use and clean. I searched for a while looking at all the pros and cons and decided on playtex vent-aire bottles. My son seemed to like them okay,however it proved to be a bad choice for mommy.They are made up of many parts to put together and break down and clean. Such as the top, nipple, top ring, bottle, bottom ring, and last but not least the screw on bottom. Yes, count them. A total of 6 parts to break down to clean and put back together.Also, Imagine how many bottles a day I used. That's a lot of parts!

Since my first choice proved to be a bad one. I decided to look for another bottle. So, the first thing I did was start asking other mothers what their preferences were. My Sister in Law had mentioned to me that her twins had been given Avent bottles as a shower gift and they came to love them. She gave me one to try and since I have been hooked. They are wide mouth bottles with natural built in air systems and they are easy to clean.They are more expensive than many of the other brands but they are well worth it.

Now, we are both HAPPY !

Hand sucking and chewing...

My son chews and sucks on his hands so much that his little hands get chapped. I have tried keeping mittens on him but he pulls them off so quick.Trying to keep them on him is frustrating to both of us. Others have suggested that I try different toys to interest him in rather than his hands which I have done.It does not seem to be working either. It's almost as if all of the toys are so big he can not actually get them in his mouth.I can tell when he is holding it that he is trying to put the toy in his mouth but he gets most of his hand in his mouth instead. Is this just a phase or should I be concerned ?

Ear infections ?

So.....they say if you have a fever you are contagious to others , right? I have heard that ear infections are not contagious. So.....If fever is a symptom of ear infections, how is it not contagious and not passed to other children . Also if they are not contagious then why do so many children get ear infections around the same time in child care facilities ? Someone help me please!

Car seat TERROR !

I am new to the game so any and all advise is pretty much welcomed at this point. My son is 3 months old now and has started crying like I have just beat him when I put him in his car seat. It is very upseting and embarrising at times.It normally only lasts a few moments but it sounds like a cry of TERROR ! I have checked to make sure it is comfortable and clean .I have attached toys to it. I have played with him in it and nothing seems to be working. Please help !
